Getting Back the Real Me

Challenges to Our Oneness With God

This months: Spiritual Lesson for August 2008

Getting Back the Real Me

Balancing the Human and Divine Self—The Observer Self

Dramas and traumas in life can make us behave differently than our Real Me, our better self, our true-God-Self. Challenges and the stress that is the result of constant challenges can easily make us feel, behave, and be less than our real God-Self—our best self that we all know we can be.

A dramatic relationship or a significant other who has constant dramas and stresses can influence us to feel negative and depressed instead of our normal, and or, desired way of feeling positive about ourselves, our life and others that share our life. The dramas, traumas, or challenges that our life may hold are stressful and usually hard to deal with. Or these negative conditions may not be ours at all—they belong to a loved one. Thus we feel them also and we feel out of control and stressed. As we are affected by the problems of others in our life, we are not sure how to heal them. Most of the time we really don't know how to handle and get rid of these dramas. Yet inside of us is a yearning to leave our negative self behind and to try to get back the Real Me that we love and feel good about, our true self that we trust and feel comfortable with—our true Self that we are proud of. This self is our positive and perfect true God-Self. This self is made in the perfect image and likeness of God. This Self is the child, the creation of God.

We usually don't have much control over our outer circumstances and the experiences of others. But we do have control over the inner experience of our inner self. We can always choose to be and feel positive—this is our right and our responsibility—to be and live our true positive and Feeling Good Self.

Following are exercises, meditations and affirmations that will help us get in touch with the Real Me, our God-Self again, whenever we have lost touch with who we really are. It usually takes about a month, or less, to bring the real me back into expression in our daily life. All we are doing is reminding ourselves who we really are. This is a very important lesson; for the great truth we have is the knowledge of knowing who we are as a positive spiritual being.

*Please copy the following exercises to keep with you during the day*

First: An Exercise of Choice:

You have the power to choose who you really are and how you want to feel. You can choose to turn from living with the negative impostor that you sometimes are. You can choose to be the positive self that you know you can be. The following is an affirmation to think about and repeat to yourself often during the day:

"I choose to be my real positive God-Self!"

As time goes by we find that we start to become that Self which we focus on each day.

Second: Another Exercise of Choice.

How you will live your life

Use the following affirmation many times daily. Each day look at the following affirmation and repeat it often to yourself until you become the truth that you are working with

"This is my life and I choose to live it in an authentic way—to be and feel positive about my life."

The self, the real me that we think about and want to express in life—we start to become—easily and joyfully. This is a very simple truth that is a wonderful tool to use, to get back in touch with our true God-Self. All we need to do is allow ourselves to accept this truth about who we are spiritually and how we want to live our life. To start to live each day being guided by this positive self that we know ourselves to really be.

Third Exercise: Relieving Stress

A Statement of Truth Meditation

Meditate on the following truth for ten to thirty minutes morning and night, or more often. Repeat this truth to yourself until you are peaceful and become the reality of this truth.

"My positive true God-Self is who I am”

When we come to realize the truth of who we are, we realize that our true God-Self is above any form of stress and negativity—in any form.

Fourth Exercise: Act as If

You are one who is extremely positive

In the day before you commit yourself to being your true positive self–all day long, no matter what the outer circumstances may be—decide to be and feel like a person who feels and expresses unconditional love. Be the peace that you are searching for in life. Act as if all your problems and challenges have just gone away. Give yourself a mini-vacation from stress and feeling negative. Just know that you will handle each challenge in the right way, as a person who is self-confident and peaceful.

Know: "I am peaceful, I am still, and God is guiding me to the right way to interact with others in my life. All is good."

The conclusion and the intent of this lesson:

Take back your Real Me,  your true and real self that you are when there are no problems or negativities in your life.

Remember that you may have little control over the problems and challenges in your life. But the true Self that you choose to be and to live with is completely under your control. You control your reactions to your challenges. You control how you are going to feel during the day. You control your emotions, thoughts and beliefs about your life, right here and now.

Thank you God that our true-God-Self is aware and in control of our lives—Blessing to you all.

Practicing the Presence of God

God is Everywhere Present

Each day, when I wake up, I want to spend that day in a day of peace and security.

Each day I want to feel that my day has meaning—that I am somehow fulfilling my divine purpose—that my day is dedicated to doing the goodness of God, to some degree.

Each day I want to know and feel that I am surrounded by the presence of God, by the protection of God, and by the company of God.

I also hope that my daily relationships are harmonious and joyful—that I am giving love as well as being open and aware to receiving love—that I am a blessing to others.

My daily intent is to find and make the time for Spiritual study; making a special time for myself to join with the presence of God in meditation and thought.

I realize that with God, just as with any relationship, expressing my love for God is most important.

***

The Divine Principle that we will work with and contemplate during the month is:

"The Love of God Surrounds Me"

Exercises to work with and think about this month

The following are exercises, meditations, affirmations, and activities to use in the next month. Remember, what we think about and practice for 30 days, we become! We become a new Self in daily expression and experience. We become the Self that we feel comfortable with; the true God-Self that we live with and love all of the time, regardless of our outer circumstances and the people around us.

The meditations that we will be using this month and in the future is a form of meditation which I have come up with through years of study [since age twelve], that I feel is most beneficial to ourselves and to our daily lifestyle, which I call Statements of Truth meditations.

When we first start our daily meditation on a spiritual truth, the first few minutes we may have a feeling of negativity, or restriction, or a feeling of this is not true, or this is not me or my life, but these feelings are just coming to our awareness to be released and let go of. In a few minutes we will start to feel more at peace with our statement of truth and we slowly become one with it. It just takes time (10 to 30 minutes) daily, or if you like, you can meditate several times during the day and night, it is up to you. [I meditate whenever I have a few minutes to do so; perhaps four or five times a day.]

You might also use the meditations as affirmations, to remind yourself of during the day and night. If you like, write them down and carry them with you.

*[I suggest you copy the following exercises and carry with you]

The paraphrased Scripture that we will be working with is:

"I will love God with my whole mind, heart and soul"

Following are exercises, a meditation and affirmations to help us all realize and feel God's Presence to a greater degree each and every day of our lives. Do these exercises each week for four weeks. It usually takes a month to make a new way of Being and Living.

Leaving Our Home

Whenever we leave our home or work, remember to realize and say to yourself that: "The presence of God goes before me to make the crooked places straight."

Through our awareness, we consciously bring God's Presence into our daily experience. Of course, God has made the universe and is certainly everywhere present, but we are also given free will and it takes our intentional asking and remembering God, to have God included in our daily lives. Asking is also done by being aware of God's Presence in our thoughts, emotions and activities. Through our remembrance we intentionally bring God into our daily experience.

Divine Purpose through Activity

During the day, whenever you do a project, just remember that God is working and expressing through you. Thus, bringing your conscious awareness again to God periodically during the day. This is an important part of our fulfilling our divine purpose in our life.

Personal Divine Purpose

Your divine purpose is to express the qualities and attributes of God through yourself. For example: expressing feelings of love, kindness, thoughtfulness, happiness, joy … is expressing God. Thinking positive thoughts is using your mind and thoughts as an instrument or extension for God to think through. Again bringing the Presence of God into your daily experience through your feelings and thoughts. This is another great divine purpose to have.

Thinking About Self

Whenever you think about yourself realize: "God loves me unconditionally." Whenever you look in the mirror remember: "God loves me unconditionally." "I am the unique beauty of God in expression." ”I Am the Unique Countenance of God in Expression."

Thinking of Others

Whenever I think about someone during the day, I realize that the presence of God is with them and caring for them and surrounding them. (Our special prayers for others.)

At Night

At night dedicate yourself to the care and safekeeping of God's Presence during your sleep. Rest in the peace and security of God, all night long.

Statement of Truth—Meditation

To repeat to yourself inwardly from five to thirty minutes—two times each day. Repeat calmly till this truth becomes a part of who you are:

"Wherever I am God is."

Meditation is a wonderful tool to realize your true spiritual reality.

An Affirmation

Repeat this truth to yourself often during the day:

"God is with me at all times."

***

In conclusion: remember that our relationship with God will be with us throughout eternity, and this is a very important relationship to cultivate—perhaps our most important relationship by far. God is available to you right now in all areas of your life. You are never alone when God is with you!

We will return to this important lesson many times in the future from different viewpoints, because this is a truth that is so important to each of us.

Blessings to each of you on your journey with God.

I Am Already that which I Seek

The Principle to work with this following month

I am already that which I seek to be

The paraphrased Scripture to work with

Be perfect, as your father in Heaven is perfect

One of the major reasons we work on realizing our oneness with God is so that we come to know intimately, our true God Self, our perfect Self, the Self that we desire and seek to be, to be one with, and to fully realize.

This true God Self is given many different names from religions and authors. It is called our Christ Self or Christ Consciousness, aware Self, observer Self, our perfect Self, our Real Self versus our human self, pain body, lower self etc..

It is our positive feeling Self of joy, happiness, love, peace, confidence, beauty, calmness; being satisfied and comfortable or a sense of contentment with yourself and your life, versus our negative feelings of fear, hurt, pain, and anger.

Exercises to work with and think about this month

The following are exercises, meditations, affirmations, and activities to use in the next month. Remember, what we think about and practice for 30 days, we become! This months: Spiritual Lesson for May 2008

This is My Happiest Day Yet

My dear friends, whether you are my age, middle aged,  younger, or with only a few years left—we all must make it our intent to live each day as the best and the happiest day in our lives—that we have lived.

"This is the day which God has made,
let us rejoice and be glad in it."

(Scripture, Paraphrase)

The Principle to Work with and Think about this Month

God is the one and only presence of love and joy in this world. And this presence of God is available to us all of the time. All that we need do is, remember to remember the love of God within ourselves and within our lives.

The following are exercises and experiences to use and practice each day for a month (30 days to create a new positive habit). Please copy the lessons and carry with you.

1. An affirmation to repeat to yourself during the day, as often as possible:

"Today is the perfect day which God's substance of Love has created for me. I rejoice fully today. I am absolutely happy today."

[Write out this affirmation and put it around the house, your car, and carry it with you wherever you go.]

2. Daily meditation, 5 to 20 minutes whenever you feel like it.

Rememberwhat you meditate on and think about you become.
Repeat to yourself softly:

"I allow myself to Be Happy"

3. In the morning before you get out of bed—purposely intend how you will feel during the day. (Remember this is your right and your responsibility to feel the way you want to feel).
Peacefully and fully feel:

"This is God's day and it is perfect. This is God's day and I am Happy."

Then rest in God's presence of love and carry this unconditional love with you throughout the day!

4. Whenever you wake up during the night tell yourself and feel:

"I am unconditionally loved by God."

5. Whenever possible during the day—when you sit at a stop light, or look outside or take any moment to yourself:

Feel God's great love for You

Remember: This day is God' perfect gift to you, to feel as wonderful as you choose to feel, regardless of all outside circumstances.

Challenges to Our Oneness With God

It seems that most of the time we are dealing with problems or challenges on some level during this life. And, regardless of the human steps we choose to take to handle these challenges, it is always beneficial to be in a clear, calm, receptive state when we do so—so that we are listening to the highest level of guidance and wisdom from God (within our minds and hearts—our oneness with God).

I realized last week, while finding myself in the middle of dealing with a few unwanted challenges; I realized again how important it is for all of us to be in oneness with God—instantly—whenever we feel any form of fear or concern about situations in our lives. I would like to share with you an easy and useful process to use whenever any form of upheaval enters our lives and minds

The divine principle or law that we will be working with

God is the one and only Power"

"God is all-Power"

"God is all-Powerful.”

Paraphrased Scripture to study—from Genesis—

“God created all that is and declared that it is all-good.”

It’s easy these days to allow ourselves to be influenced by the lies of this world which says that there are other powers in our lives that are greater than God. As we watch and listen to the TV we hear that there are powers greater than God’s all-power of Good. As we listen to other people we hear this falsehood over and over again of many powers or problems in our lives. Even as we listen to our thoughts, if we are not careful, we can hear the voice of problems saying that they have power over our lives.

We must be careful to fill our minds, our hearts, and our lives with the divine truth, that God is the one and only truth, that God is the one and only power in our life!

Really knowing and consistently reminding ourselves that God is the one and only power in our life is the way to overcoming all fear that we feel in our everyday lives.

Really knowing this divine truth is the way to living the life of freedom from negativity in our life and the way to finding true happiness within ourselves.

“You shall know the truth (about God) and the truth will set you free (from all fear).”
